Drive Out Stigma
Drive Out Stigma 2015
Additional details forthcoming!
When: July, 2015
What: Drive Out Stigma is our annual golf outing held to benefit the Mental Health Foundation's educational work in the community. We currently provide three different programs (detailed below) to local schools and businesses and have educated over 10,000 people in this school year alone.
Live Laugh Love (LLL) – LLL is our mental health education program dedicated to educating middle school and high schools students about the stigma surrounding mental health, signs and symptoms of mental illnesses like depression, signs and symptoms of suicide, and how to get help when students notice these signs and symptoms in themselves or others.
be nice. – be nice. is our “anti-bullying” campaign with a positive spin. The core of be nice. is understanding that how you treat others can have a major impact on how they think, act, and feel. Small efforts to make someone’s day can make a big difference.
Mental Health First Aid – MHFA is a new national evidence-based program designed to educate adults on how to handle a mental health crisis. We have been leading the charge in the West Michigan area with over 20 MHFA trainings scheduled for this Spring/Summer.
